![]() My first Pride was this June, the Houston Pride, and it was very amazing. “I have been living in the United States for 4 years (I'm originally from Mexico City) and I came out to my parents and friends as transgender when I was 16, and then as pansexual when I was 17. In fact, I even ended up meeting my first girlfriend at the parade!” - April, 20 I loved feeling so welcomed and included by everyone I met. I just thought of it as a time to express my inner self and not care what other people thought. For me, Pride is an event that’s all about community, so I just wanted to see how it felt to be there among that community. I was kind of just exploring my options and seeing what I wanted. ![]() It means so much to me that she wanted to come with me and be with me to experience that. ![]() It was actually last year and I ended up going with my sister.
